Why choose Clinisoft as a partner
Deep expertise in healthcare is part of Clinisoft’s DNA. When I began my career as a young designer in a startup developing intensive care information systems, the company already had a strong operating model: products were created together with local end users, but always with the international market in mind. After an acquisition, the product grew into a successful part of a major global company’s portfolio.
The same approach has proven effective in numerous other projects throughout my journey. Close cooperation with healthcare professionals has always been the key to creating applications that clinicians value—and that can succeed internationally.
We develop software with both the patient and the end user in mind
Another important lesson comes from understanding the core processes in healthcare.
Hospital information systems are traditionally built around administrative workflows. This is understandable, but it often hides the essential fact: the patient’s wellbeing is the goal clinicians optimize. The care process is not a fixed sequence—it is a dynamic combination of models chosen based on the patient’s status.
Software must therefore adapt to the patient’s needs just as clinicians do.
And even after more than thirty years in the field, healthcare IT still frequently relies on industrial technologies such as relational databases and application servers. These platforms are adequate for banking systems, but far from optimal for the scientific, data-intensive environment of healthcare. A single patient monitor may generate tens or hundreds of parameters, which must be combined with lab data, observations, and infused medications. Managing such complex clinical data requires more than just floats and integers.
Fortunately, the industry has evolved.
HL7 has made remarkable progress in defining interfaces and modelling healthcare information. The HL7 Reference Information Model paved the way for HL7 FHIR, which has brought clarity to interoperability. Another example is openEHR, which provides a standardised clinical data model and helps healthcare organisations reduce vendor lock-in.
At Clinisoft, we have often been front-runners in adopting these new methods. Not every attempt has been a success—but every one has taught us something valuable. We are ready to use this experience to benefit both the industry and healthcare providers.
Safety and quality are at the heart of software development
The third principle is product safety.
Healthcare professionals must obtain a reliable picture of a patient’s condition and adjust treatment quickly. Data collection must happen seamlessly, without slowing down or obstructing care. This requires robust data aggregation, processing, integrations, and automation.
Such systems are regulated under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR).
We are committed to fully complying with legislation and following the best proven development practices.
That’s why Clinisoft
We work side by side with healthcare professionals to serve the best interests of the patient—combining clinical insight with deep software engineering experience.
Good to be home again.
